NEW: Film Conversion Clean Room Up and Running

We’re proud to share with you photographs of our new Film Conversion Clean Room and its crew.  The new facility, which is located in our main factory and lab complex, supersedes a filtered air, positive vacuum conversion facility that had been located in a separate building about 1 ½ miles (≈ 2 ½ km.) distant.  For years, master film rolls coated in our factory had been transported to the conversion facility, then returned, as finished rolls or sheets, to the factory complex where our warehouse is also located.

By placing the new Film Conversion Clean Room literally a few meters from the coating machines, we have been able to minimize the handling of work-in-progress master film rolls and reduce intra-city transportation.  Our objective is to produce film products that meet the needs of our most demanding and technically sophisticated customers.  We want Ulano film products to continue to be the first choice of industrial producers of printing for PCB work, flexible circuitry, RFID devices, solar panels, membrane and touch panels, ceramic decals, etc.  Our new Film Conversion Clean Room is the newest marker of our commitment to continual improvement of product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

We continually try to find ways to improve our in-process quality monitoring to insure that each intermediate production step meets specific tolerances before continuing on to the next step.  In addition, in recent years we have placed increased reliance for monitoring quality in the hands of our production managers and operators—our Film Conversion Clean Room Crew among them.  They take pride in their work.  Moreover, they are closest to the production processes and, during their many years of production experience, have developed a “sixth sense” for quality.  Their empowerment results in more rapid correction of any in-process deviations.

You can read more about our commitment to quality in our Corporate Mission Statement, posted in the “About Us” section of this Web site.

NEW: EZ-FILM-30

In response to numerous requests from you and your customers, we are introducing EZ-FILM-30 to address the requirements of imprinted sportswear printers who use mesh that is finer than the  mesh count range (33 - 61 threads/cm.; 110 – 156/inch) recommended for standard EZ-FILM.

EZ-FILM-30 is recommended for mesh counts ranging between 90 and 165 threads/cm. (230 – 419/inch).  Like original EZ-FILM, EZ-FILM-30 is sold in two prepackaged sheet formats: ≈ 38 X 43 cm. and ≈ 43 X 60.9 cm. (respectively 15 X 17 inches and 17 X 24 inches), packaged 50 per box (2 X 25).

EZ-FILM continues to provide all the benefits that have made it so successful: ease of use; fast processing; consistent stencil thickness for consistent exposure and control of ink deposit; wet processing that virtually eliminates pinholes; the convenience of sheets; easy stencil inspection and see-through registration—and pricing that makes it a viable alternative to direction emulsion.

With the introduction of EZ-FILM-30, all these benefits are now available to a wider segment of the market.

NEW: Eco-Wash 160—Fast-Acting, Low VOC Ink Wash

Last month at SGIA ’10 /Las Vegas, we introduced economically-priced Eco-Wash 160, a fast-acting, low VOC (volatile organic compounds) ink wash for the removal of virtually all screen printing inks. Eco-Wash 160 is especially effective for the removal of both traditional and non-phthalate plastisol inks as well as UV inks. Eco-Wash 160 is suitable for both manual use and, because it is low foaming, in automated equipment. It also functions as a remover of fresh ink stains.

EZ-FILM™ - Textile Capillary Film

  • Priced as a viable alternative to Direct Emulsion
  • Fast drying
  • Fast exposing Pure Photopolymer (SBQ)

EZ-FILM is intended for standard textile printing,
and priced to be an economical alternative to direct emulsion in material cost and because it offers significant savings in labor and production time.
EZ-FILM is ideal for mesh counts ranging from 110 – 156 threads/ inch (33 – 61 threads/cm.). It is pink in color and coated on 3-mil (75-micron) matte-surface polyester. EZ-FILM is sold in prepackaged sheets 15 X 17 inches (38 X 43 cm.) and 17 X 24 inches (43 X 61 cm.). It adheres perfectly, dries faster than direct emulsion, and exposes very quickly. EZ-FILM can be adhered with plain water or with QTX direct emulsion in the direct/indirect mode. EZ-FILM should be used with non-aggressive solvent-based inks and mild washup solvents. Screen openers and aggressive solvents will make screen reclaiming more difficult.
